Continence Center of Western New England

The Continence Center of Western New England is here to offer you the treatment you need in controlling your bladder (Urinary Incontinence) so you can have a more normal and active lifestyle.

Types of Incontinence

Do you leak urine when you lift something heavy, or when you cough, sneeze, laugh, or exercise?  If so, you are not alone.  This is known as Stress Urinary Incontinence.

Have you stopped taking part in exercise programs, trips, or family gatherings in order to avoid embarrassing accidents because you cannot control your bladder or make it to the bathroom in time?  This is known as Urgency Incontinence or Overactive Bladder.  This occurs when your bladder muscle contracts too often or involuntarily and an uncontrollable leakage of urine occurs.  A combination of more than one type of incontinence occurring at the same time is called Mixed Incontinence.

And, Overflow Incontinence is when the bladder does not empty fully and urine may dribble out.  The bladder may also never feel completely empty.

Here at the Continence Center of Western New England we want you to know that there are many ways to manage and in many cases stop the incidence of urinary leakage.
The first step is…
